A Rendezvous Cast/Crew Update

It’s the dog days of summer; hot, humid, with sunshine never-ending. Energy for much of anything seems as difficult to find, as the motivation to do something with it when you discover that extra reserve. The irony is, this is the perfect time to get some housecleaning done. Whether it’s film festival entries, demo reel updates, or screenplay polishes, there’s always something you can do to take those baby steps forward. Here are some updates on what’s happening with some of the people involved with A Rendezvous.

  1. Associate Producer P.K. Wells is in the middle of making her first documentary. Follow the journey of a budding documentarian at My Shanghai: The Film.
  2. Script Supervisor and fellow writer, Melva McLean has joined forces with Director Danishka Esterhazy and Red Czarina Productions to bring to screen her short screenplay, Chopin’s Heart. The script is an adaptation of the short story, In-Sook, by Emily Givner.
  3. Director of Photography, Thomas Billingsley, has a new series of demo reels for you to check out. I’m a big fan of his work, and I know you will be, too.
  4. Actor Bronwen Smith can be seen in this summer’s, Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Dog Days. The film should be in your local movie theatre on August 3rd. Show a little love for one of our stars and take the whole family.
  5. If you’re in the Vancouver area for the remainder of the summer, check out The Land of Deborah’s website for locations in and around town where you can catch her performing.
  6. Look for the short film The Ties That Remain, from writer/director/producer Isabelle Swiderski, at a festival near you. The film is Isabelle’s first in what should be a long career in film. Isabelle designed our poster.

People are out there, even in all this glorious sunshine, getting things done. So, what’s your plans for the rest of the summer?
