“A Rendezvous” Comments

A Rendezvous Poster

It’s been six days since I placed A Rendezvous online, and I have to say the response has been most gratifying.

The film has been the catalyst for numerous conversations about intimacy, and the need for connection in today’s fast-paced, and often impersonal society. In particular, it has created a dialogue around how women seek connection, and define intimacy.  That conversation has continued online.

I’d like to share some of the comments that have been posted on Facebook and Twitter since the film was posted on May 23rd.  I’m using the initials of the posters because I’m still a little old school on the whole “privacy” and “permission” issue.

WV: “I enjoyed your short. Well “enjoyed” is the wrong word, I think “moved” is a better choice. The performances were superb.”

LB: “WOW… I finally got to see it… brought tears to my eyes and I still have the lump in my throat…””

JR: “I want to see more productions like this — short stories with good writing and acting. Wave of the future!”

AM: “A surprising ending to a powerful short film. Watch it here… Bravo… bravo.”

BB: “I’ve watched it a few times tonight. Wow, a really fine work. Michelle & Land of Deborah you should be so proud!… Such wonderful film & music work deserves to be recognized.”

Sometimes it takes patience to see exactly how and where a film can have impact. Turns out, our space was online. Thank you to everyone who has taken the time to watch, comment on, and share A Rendezvous. At the end of the day, that’s all a filmmaker hopes will happen with their work; that someone sees it, and likes it. Thank you  so very very much for sharing that you do.
