Cold Reading Series: Special Web Edition

Aliyah O'Brien and Shauna Johannesen read Birthday Blues.

April just got a whole lot better, with a special edition of The Cold Reading Series running on Monday, April 28th at The Backstage Lounge on Granville Island. This edition is in support of the inaugural Vancouver Web Fest, the first film festival in the city dedicated to Web Series.

This edition of The Cold Reading Series is currently accepting submissions of screenplays for Web Series to be read by some of Vancouver’s finest actors. The room is often packed, so I ask you screenwriters, how often do you get the chance to have your work read aloud by professionals to a room  of a hundred people? I know, not often, so get your submissions in early. You can submit through the Cold Reading Series Website. If your work is chosen, you’re expected to attend, so please be sure to clear your schedule in advance.

The Vancouver Web Fest runs from May 2 to May 4th and includes an international roster of productions. It looks like it’s going to be one entertaining weekend. My thought? Clear the weekend and hang out with some cool creatives at the historic Imperial Vancouver (formerly District 319).

It’s spring, and it’s time to get you and your projects out there. See you by the popcorn stand!
