Michelle-2WebMichelle Muldoon is an award-winning writer living in Vancouver, BC. Born in Scotland, and raised in Canada, the life of a semi-nomad suited her well until Michelle came across Vancouver, BC. Her love affair with the city nestled between mountains and ocean has kept Michelle firmly rooted in West Coast soil.

Sport defined the first stage of Michelle’s life with her love for volleyball beginning at the age of eleven. She went on to play for McMaster University, and then to a successful coaching career in B.C. high school sport. Perseverance and dedication to craft comes naturally after all these years.

Michelle won her first screenplay award for Best Drama Screenplay at the 2008 Action on Film (AOF) International Film Festival and since then, has had success at festivals across North America.

In 2008 Michelle caught the film production bug with a submission to the Broad Humor Film Festival Legacy Challenge. Since then, she’s written/produced and directed several other projects, received film festival nominations and wins. Michelle’s first music video collaboration with singer/songwriter The Land of Deborah (Pocket of Heaven) closed out an episode of Del Weston on Film on NBC, Channel 4, in Los Angeles (2011).

Her feature film credits include: second assistant director on Stan Harrington’s film Small Days, associate producer on Del Weston’s film, Sunny and RayRay and co-producer on the Lisa Ovies directorial debut feature film, Puppet Killer.

Michelle received the Women of Film Award at the 2009 Action on Film (AOF) International Film Festival in California, the Keith Provost Award at The Vancouver-based Cold Reading Series in 2012, and was elected to the Board of Directors of Women in Film and Television Vancouver (WIFTV) in June of 2014.

Michelle Muldoon is the creator and producer of the Vancouver International Women in Film Festival Screenplay Competition, and the Writers Room, an alumni writing event and community associated with the Action on Film (AOF) International Film Festival.
